BPI is a leading developer of technical standards for home performance and weatherization retrofit work that are recognized across North America. From these standards, they’ve developed training programs, professional credentialing for individuals and company accreditations – including quality assurance programs – that help raise the bar in home performance contracting.
A certified BPI professional will perform a comprehensive home/building analysis using industry specific diagnostic equipment to ensure the safest, healthiest and most efficient building performance possible. As an added benefit of contracting a BPI affiliated analyst/contractor, the homeowner or building manager will be able to realize substantial tax rebates and incentives following the completion of the specified workscope.
Building Analyst (BA)
A BPI Certified Building Analyst goes beyond a traditional energy audit to perform comprehensive, whole-home assessments, identifying problems at the root cause and prescribing and prioritizing solutions based on building science via a comprehensive work scope.
Building Envelope Analyst (BE)
A BPI Certified Building Envelope analyst will quantify performance and prescribe improvements specifically to help tighten the building envelope (shell), stop uncontrolled air leakage and optimize comfort, durability and HV/AC performance.
Multifamily Analyst (MFA)
The Multifamily Analyst will apply the building-as-a-system fundamentals to diagnose problems and improve the performance of larger, more complex residential structures. This designation will draw resources from both BA and BE training
Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED is intended to provide building owners and operators a concise framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions.
LEED is an internationally recognized green building certification system, providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies intended to improve performance in metrics such as energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.
LEED Accredited Professional – Building, Design and Construction
The LEED AP BD+C credential provides a standard for professionals participating in the design and construction phases of high-performance, healthful, durable, affordable and environmentally sound commercial, institutional, and high-rise residential buildings.
